Gloucester, Massachusetts June 21, 2025

The Gloucester location and the weather were beautiful. With an estimated 1000 reenactors on Saturday, it was the largest reenactment I’ve been at in a long time. I was able to stand at the top of the redout, helping recreate Stark’s First New Hampshire, who protected the flank. Watching the British reenactors come up that hill, that sea of red, it was amazing. There was so much firing going on, it was so loud and smoky. Goosebumps moment for reenactors!
It was also a time to catch up with some old friends, and meet some new ones.
There was a group there that had traveled up from the deep south, from Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi to be part of it and they were just so happy to be there. So was I.
There was media from all over the United States there to cover this event, including C-Span and the Atlantic, who interviewed some of our members! We look forward to seeing what makes it onto the coverage. We are all looking forward to what’s next for 250th events!
