New Hampshire is celebrating the 250th anniversary of its first state constitution, adopted on January 5, 1776, making it the first colony to establish an independent government months before the Declaration of Independence, with official events including historical reenactments, readings, and displays of the original document at the State Archives and State House, commemorating this pivotal moment in American history. The First New Hampshire Regiment was proud to participate in the ceremonies held in Exeter, New Hampshire.
